Edna's Cleaners: no perc used here
By Helen Triolo, last updated 12/8/12 03:39pm
Nate (in the picture) & Patty, long-time owners of Edna's Cleaners in the Talbott Center near Woodmont Country Club, assured me today as I took in a batch of shirts & pants for cleaning that they do not and have not for years used 'perc' in their cleaning process. (Perchloroethylene is classified by the IARC as a probable human carcinogen, but has been widely used in the dry-cleaning business, and still is by some, because it's an effective solvent.) Nice to have found this neighborhood dry-cleaning service with friendly owners and planet-friendly cleaning.
