The Friends of the Library, Rockville Chapter is proud to sponsor a program on the "Humor in Politics, a behind the scenes look" from Robert Chartrand, author and retired Senior Information Specialist from the Library of Congress.

Our political process, down through the years, has been the greatest show on Earth, with a cast of characters ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. With an easy manner and a use of anecdotes and material akin to that of Will Rogers and Mark Twain, the speaker draws upon more than 40 years as an observer and activist in the political arena. He has collected a cornucopia of fun-filled facts and foibles about the Presidents, legislators (“the denizens of Capitol Hill”), political bosses, and just plain folks that make up the political institution. As a bottom line, he agrees with Will Rogers who once notes that “In all, it’s a great country. It’s the best and the worst one I ever lived in.”

This program is suitable for audiences aged 12 and above. Please join us in meeting room 1 in the library for this talk and refreshments. Cost - free!
